Chasing the Elephant: Reading & Writing
Memoir
How do you grab hold of something as big as a
life? In this class
we'll sample the works of varied memoirists
and explore the different
forms this diverse genre can take, from
essay, narrative, poetry and
beyond. Through right-brain writing exercises
and lively discussions,
you'll find your personal stories, your
unique writing voice, and the
unexpected truths about your life. The first
half of this course will
focus on entering the creative process and
generating new material.
We'll then shift to shaping and revision
work, through a gentle group
critique process. Come ready to read, write,
delve and discover.
Open to all writing levels.
